A 17-year-old boy walked more than a mile home after he was shot in a street robbery late Tuesday, Cincinnati police said.

The teen told investigators he exited a bus at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Fischer Place about 10:30 p.m. and was approached by two African American men who stole his cell phone and shot him in the left leg, said Lt. Tim Brown, the night chief.

The victim said he walked home about 1.5 miles and was taken in a private vehicle by relatives to Mercy Hospital West.

He is expected to recover.

Police hope to learn more about the incident as they continue to investigate, Brown said.

Delhi Township police have identified a suspected debit-card thief with
help from tipsters.

Charges have not been filed against a woman that police said they
believe made fraudulent purchases with a debit card Jan. 15.

The suspect's name has not been released as no charges have been filed.

A call for assistance in identifying the suspect produced multiple tips
and an eventual positive identification, police said.

Suspicious activity on a bank account was first reported by a Delhi
cardholder Jan. 15. The transaction history showed unauthorized
purchases at the Colerain Township Target and Hobby Lobby stores,
according to a police news release.

A police review of the stores' surveillance-camera footage showed a
then-unidentified female making purchases matching the fraudulent
purchases.

The suspect was filmed by surveillance cameras leaving the stores in a
red or maroon-colored Kia Rondo, according to the news release.

Anyone with additional information regarding the suspect is asked to
contact Delhi Township police at 513-922-0060.
